Welcome to My Counselling Practice

Hello, I'm Sue. Welcome to my practice. I'm glad you've taken this step to learn more about me and how I might be able to support you on your journey.

Before counselling, I spent many years working in the emergency services, where I gained valuable experience dealing with high-stress situations and supporting people through some of their toughest moments. This work taught me the importance of empathy, quick thinking, and remaining calm under pressure - skills that now form the foundation of my counselling practice.

My experiences in the emergency services also gave me a deep understanding of trauma, the impact of being a victim of crime, and the complex emotions that can arise from these situations. If you're faced with similar experiences, know that you're not alone, and I'm here to support you.

A Tailored Approach to Therapy

As a BACP accredited integrative counsellor, I believe that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. That's why I draw from various therapeutic techniques to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and preferences.

Whether you're most comfortable with traditional talk therapy, prefer to explore your feelings through creative exercises, or find peace in walk-and-talk sessions surrounded by nature, we'll find the approach that works best for you.

I work with adults, children (over the age of 10), and young people. My additional training in counselling children and young people, combined with my experience working in higher education settings, allows me to support clients of all ages through their unique challenges.

As a counsellor, I believe in the importance of continuous learning. I'm a qualified Mental Health First Aid trainer, which allows me to offer short-term, solution-focused work on specific mental health issues. I've also completed training in supporting neurodiverse clients, ensuring I can provide informed and sensitive care to all my clients.

If you're considering counselling, I understand it can feel daunting. But remember, reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. I'm here to support you every step of the way, at your pace and on your terms.

I look forward to the possibility of working with you and supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth.
